Merry Christmas Dance Beats

Hey everybody! Merry Christmas and I just wanted to let you all know what's up and what I'm doing.

Recetly I've gotten into the Vancouver Film School and will be attending in February of 2011. Until then I've been working on some film stuff you may have seen on the Wacky Canoe Web-log. But I've also been working with a new group called The Danger Pins. Be sure to follow us on http://www.twitter.com/dangerpins. We have a few songs out but last night I came up with this little dance electro track you can listen to right here and be sure to download and share with your friends. It's free!

I've also been working on some more film stuff. You'll be able to find more about it through the wacky canoe blog. But in short I'm trying to make a short action film. I can't say much else about it but it's something different for me.

Cheers
Nate

Myers Briggs test

A friend of mine has gotten me interested in Myers Briggs personality tests. They're very interesting. Basically, the idea is that there are 16 different personality types. You can do a test to determine which you are and the rest can be manifested into a combination of four different letters. I did the test and I got an INTJ

Here's something I read that describes how INTJs act.

INTJ Under Stress

INTJs' precision thinking and need for accuracy causes them to be inflexible at times. Having thought out a strategy, the INTJ may stubbornly disregard those who they think have not spent as much time reflecting on an idea as they have. This, along with their drive to produce something significant, can make them demanding and difficult. If their plans and solutions fall short of their high standards, INTJ's feel pressured - as if everything is on the line. "Everything," for an INTJ, is the competence and ability to produce something significant. Fear of not living up to this expectation will increase their stress and possibly dissuade them from risking or trying out their ideas. They may then find themselves thinking about ideas that do not have a meaningful or productive end.

When stress increases, the INTJ can become argumentative and disagreeable. Social interaction, which is not their strength, becomes increasingly difficult for them. Not trusting their own abilities, they become preoccupied with obsessive notions. The INTJ may then find themselves spending an inordinate amount of time fighting horrible thoughts, tempting absurdities, and feelings of worthlessness. Fearful of others recognizing their perceived failure, the INTJ incessantly ruminates about mistakes, inadequacies, weaknesses, ineptness, and incompetence. Because this distracts them from risking what little confidence they may have left in themselves, it therefore keeps them from obtaining the success and achievement they so desperately need.

Cheeky Chaps at the Toronto Student Film Festival

Hey gang! I have some exciting news. I now have my own IMDB page. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3878288/

Cheeky Chaps also got screened at the Toronto Student Film Festival earlier today. Although it didn't win anything, I am greatly pleased that it was chosen to screen. There were entries all the way from Germany and India, and they were very hard to follow.

There was actually an Indian made Film that played before Cheeky Chaps made by a student at the Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics, and it was very good. I remember whispering to my Dad, "I can't follow this," but I did.

At first I was very nervous, I didn't think anyone would like it. The opening credits came up and I sunk back into my seat. I was about ready to run out of the theatre. Suddenly, the title "Cheeky Chaps" came up and many people laughed. As soon as the audience heard Eric and Jason's fake British accents they were overcome with laughter. I can tell the audience really enjoyed it. That for me was a great pleasure, especially after having it trashed on youtube. I became so excited through it that I began to take pictures. I've posted many of my photos to Twitter. http://www.twitter.com/crazzymoose.

I like to say that even though I didn't win an actual award, I won the potentially made-up award for funniest entry. And seeing my own film on the big screen was really cool too.

Even so, I was really impressed with all the work by the other students. There were so many great films and I was happy to be part of the selection.

It was also an eye opener for me because I had never gotten the chance to compare myself to others of my level. Now that I see where I possibly stand internationally, I have a better idea of where I stand as a filmmaker. I have quite a ways to go, but I know that I can still reach the apple at the top of the tree.

After an exciting day its time for a really long nap lasting through the night: Nate

At Blizzard

So I made it safely to BLizzard along with many other tech team members. Right now we're getting the Hangar set up for the first few sessions. Remember how I was going to do a video vlog. Well the internet at Muskoka Woods isn't the best so youtube won't work. So I'm doing twitter posts instead. You can stalk me here:

Alright, time to get back to setting up the projectors.

Blizzard

Hey! As some of you know I was working on an episode of Larry the Loud Librarian. Unfortunately I can't finish it this weekend due to my awayness. You can read more about it here: http://wackycanoe.blogspot.com/

Tomorrow I'm off to Blizzard, a youth retreat run by the CBOQ youth. This weekend I'm going to try something different and have a video blog so you can stalk me throughout the weekend as I am about performing my various tasks. Hopefully this will appear on my youtube channel at various points throughout the weekend.

I don't have much time to write now so I'm going to go pack.

Pigott Brothers Video

HEY! Two posts in one day how about that. I really have too much time on my hands, but I was told it is a good idea to Blog. As I am about to continue editing Larry the Loud Librarian I have decided to organize myself for the coming semester. I also found that a music video I helped with is on Much Music.

http://watch.muchmusic.com/video-playlists/muchfact/clip260661#clip260661

I didn't have a major part in it. I ran the play back the band could play along with during the shoot of the video. I got to hang out with the drummer and bassist as the other two members were out signing autographs. I also got to eat free food set aside for the cast.

I also need to mention about what I did this past weekend. So this past weekend I was up at the Blizzard retreat hosted by the CBOQ youth. Its a retreat for highschool students and I was up helping on the tech team. Many amazing things happened but there is one so cool I posted a video on it. It's currently uploading and should be up on the net in about an hour or so on my youtube channel.

Lots of fun.
